LAYTON - Venna Marie Bowler, 76, passed away in Bountiful on Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Venna was born on April 12, 1931 to George Edward Barzee and Alice Elvira Clements Barzee, in Salt Lake City, UT. She resided in Salt Lake City for 25 years, Layton for 51 years and Bountiful for almost three months.

She married Arthur Paul Bowler on June 26, 1948. Their marriage was solemnized on June 26, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Venna was educated in Salt Lake City, UT and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Venna worked in the Davis County Lunch program as a cook for many years.

Venna enjoyed quilting, crocheting, needle, plastic canvas art, crossword puzzles, puzzles, and card games. She also loved camping with her family.

Survived by sons, David P. (Donna) Bowler, Bryan S. (Cathy) Bowler, daughters, Diana L. (Gordon) Evans, Deena M. (Joey) Maggard, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and one brother Kenneth Barzee.

Preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and three brothers.

Graveside services will be held Monday April 7, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 North Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
