AKRON – Betty Jane Beck, 79, went home to be with the Lord June 13, 2011.
Born in Alliance, Betty lived in the Akron area most of her life.
She was employed as a secretary with Danna Co. for many years. Betty was a member of the New Horizon Christian Church and the Red Hat Society. She was also a Board Member and volunteer for Summa Healthcare Systems and served on the Summit County Board of Elections.
She was preceded in death by her son, Donald; parents; and brother, Donald Green.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years of marriage, Robert; daughter Debra "Debbie" Vargo; grandchildren, John Vargo III, Jennifer Vargo, Robert Vargo and Jamie Beck; great-grandson, Edward Ragan; brother John "Jack" Thomas of California; sister, Patricia Voytko of Kansas; and stepbrother, Al Stockberger of Washington.
Private entombment at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
