Roy Thomas White Jr., 82, of Kents Ridge Road, Richlands, died April 15 in a Richlands hospital following a long illness.
Born in Tazewell County, he was the son of the late Roy Thomas White Sr. and Nina Gillespie White.
He attended Berea College and served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II as a Military Policeman. He was employed at W.B.F. White and Sons in Richlands until his retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Honaker White; three brothers, George C. White, James G. White and Willie (Bill) White; one sister, Mary White Mantz; and one grandson, Michael Paul Mutter.
Survivors: daughters, Kay F. Mutter of Cedar Bluff, Mrs. Roger (Anita) Hagy of Richlands: sons, John Thomas White of Abingdon, J.R. White of Belfast; sister, Mrs. Sam (Ruth) McCall of Cedar Bluff; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted April 18 at 2 p.m. at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff with Rev. Les Ritchie and Sister Margie Minton officiating.
Burial followed in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill.
Graveside services were conducted by Casey-Short V.F.W. Post No. 9640 of Claypool Hill.
