He enlisted as a private 29 Jun-21 Jul 1777 in Capt. Ezekiel Hearick's company, Col. John Brown's Berkshire Regiment. He enlisted as a private 22 Jul-14 Aug 1777 in Capt. Noah Lankton's company, Col. John Ashley's Berkshire regiment.

Grandson of Capt. John Brewer and Hannah (Merriam) Brewer, who are buried in Woods Cemetery, Monterey, Massachusetts.
