Norma Jane Johnston Adcock, 89, of Seguin, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009.

Visitation was held in the Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel in Seguin on Friday, April 10, from 2-7 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Seguin with Dr. Brice Mandaville, the Rev. Dusty Rhodes, and the Rev. Jim Price officiating.

Interment followed in the Nockenut Cemetery in Wilson County.

Norma was born Dec. 26, 1919, in Wilson County to Finnie Crawley and Eliza Jane Hastings Johnston.

She will be remembered as a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church and a valued and longtime employee of Wal-Mart.

Her husband, Calvin R. Adcock, preceded her in death, as did her daughter, Norma Joyce Hastings; a son, Calvin F. "Sonny" Adcock; sons-in-law Kenneth Schulze and Kenneth Markgraf; Norma's parents; a sister; and three brothers.

Survivors include her 4 daughters, a son, a son-in-law, a brother,19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Norma's grandsons served as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Jeanette Siltmann, 196 Townesend Lane, Seguin, TX 78155; or to the charity of one's choice.
