A farmer and Civil War veteran, John H. Wulfekammer was the son of Fred Wulfekammer and Catherine Echelmeier. On 1900 census, he listed immigration in 1844; this is confirmed by port of New Orleans 12 Dec 1844 arrival copied to right. He married Wilhelmina Koehler on 21 January 1864. Children listed from census records were William, Lydia, Emily, Anna, Johan Ludwig, George Louis, Caroline, Henry, and Susan. Most of the information for his bio was obtained from his MO Death Certificate #14300. Informant was Henry F. Wulfekammer of St. Charles, MO. Burial was at Schluersburg, MO. May 25, 1910: John H. Wulfekammer, who moved to St. Charles, 6 months ago from Schluersburg, died Wednesday afternoon at 5:15 o'clock at his home at 800 N. Benton Avenue, at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 22 ays [days]. He was born in Germany on October 26, 1837 and came to Missouri 40 years ago. He leaves a wife and 8 children, 3 boys and 5 girls, all of whom are married except two of the boys, all grown. The remains will be shipped to his old home in Schluersburg for burial.

The Frederick William Wulfekammer (1830-1883) family also lived at Femme Osage, St. Charles County, MO, from 1860 through 1870. Reasonable speculation is that John H. Wulfekammer and William Frederick Wulfekammer were brothers. Frederick Wm Wulfekammer was buried at Holstein, MO.
