Helen L. Henry, 96, of Geneseo passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo. Funeral services celebrating her life will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo. Rev. Dr. John Wohlrabe will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Concordia Lutheran Church.
Helen was born on May 8, 1915 in Geneseo, IL the daughter of Ed and Martha (Schultz) Ristau. She was a 1933 graduate of Geneseo High School. Helen was united in marriage to Lyle D. Henry on November 28, 1946 at Concordia Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2006. Helen assisted her husband Lyle in the ownership and operation of HI Quality Ford Sales in Atkinson from 1967 to 2004. She also helped her parents on the family farm for many years. Helen was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for 15 years and was a member of the Stewardship Committee for many years.
Survivors include: one Aunt, Alice Ney and her husband Harry, Moline; two nephews, Charles Henry, Marysville, WA and Dennis Henry and his wife Chris, Geneseo; one niece, Susan McIntire, Spring Bay, IL; one cousin, Dan Ristau; three great nephews, Peter, Cameron and Benjamin McIntire; close friends, Roy Joe and Jeanette Klavine, Geneseo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother, Herb Ristau.
