Floyd Gowin, 72, of the Turney Community, near Jacksonville, died at 5:40 a.m. Friday in a Jacksonville hospital after an extended illness.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Thompson Funeral Home Chapel wit hthe Reb. Wayne Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Jarratt Cemetery.
Mr. Gowin was a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Gowin of Turney: five step-sons, W C Evans and Johnny Green of Turney, Homer L Green of Bly, Ore., David Green of Houston, and Jackie Green of Mesquite; five step daughters, Mrs. John Gillespie of Mesquite, Mrs. Marie Woodell of Lake Palestine, Mrs. Dewey Jones, Gallatin, Mrs. Joe Underwood of Palestine, and Mrs. Verna Unerwood of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Lovie Solsby of Austin.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Jones, Leon Gowin, Arlon Gowin, James Gowin, David Green and Johnny Green.
