St. Cloud Times, Nov. 4, 1999, p. 2B. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church for Lydia Eleanor Petrie, 92, who died Tuesday at Central Todd County Care Center, Clarissa. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Long Prairie. Friends may call from 2:30 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Saturday at Stephan Stein Funeral Home. A rosary will be said at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Long Prairie followed by parish prayers at 7:30. Lydia Petrie was born in Long Prairie Township, Todd County, to Paul and Bertha (Rosenow) Stephan. She married Albert Petrie on June 6, 1928, in Long Prairie. She worked at Long Prairie Board and Care for many years. The couple sold their farm in 1964 and moved into Long Prairie. She moved to Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home in 1992 and Central Todd County Care Center in 1996. She was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and a former member of Clotho Homemakers Club. Survivors include her daughters and sons, Mary Jane Lindley of Craig, Colo., Betty Ann Pesta of Eagle Bend, Lucille Mazo of New Brighton, Mavis Leagjeld, Loren and Merle of Long Prairie, Virgil of Staples, Willard of Isanti, Raymond of Eagle River, Alaska, and Albert Jr. of Dover, Ohio; brother, Lawrence of Long Prairie; 31 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, April 29, 1982; sisters and brothers, Ruth, Rose Gert, Rob, Nick and Sigfred.
