Long Prairie Leader, May 5, 1982. Services were held Mon. May 3, 1982 for Albert W. Petrie, 76, of Long Prairie at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie with the Francis Britz officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Blaine Petrie, Elton Petrie, Kenneth and Robert Christiansen, Merlin Davis, and Anthony Kortuem. Funeral arrangements were made by Stephan-Stein Funeral Home. Mr. Petrie died Thurs. Apr. 29 at Long Prairie Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 18, 1905, to George and Mary Porter Petrie in Reynolds Township. He married Lydia E. Stephan in 1928 in Long Prairie. He was a lifelong resident of Todd County, having farmed in Burleene Township from 1935 until 1964. Since then he has lived in Long Prairie, where he worked for Petrie’s Auto Wrecking until a year ago. Survivors include, his wife, Lydia; ten children, Mrs. Mary Jane Lindley of Woodland Park, Colo., Mrs. Frank (Betty Ann) Pesta of Eagle Bend, Mrs. Leslie (Lucille) Mazo of New Brighton, Virgil of Staples, Raymond of Colorado Springs, Colo., Willard of Isanti, Albert, Jr. of Massillon, Ohio, Loren of Lonsdale, Mrs. Tom (Mavis) Leagjeld of Long Prairie and Merle of Dilworth; four sisters, Mrs. Art (Myrtle) Christiansen of Eagle Bend, Mrs. James (Marie) Griep of Brook Park, Mrs. August (Mildred) Kortuem of Eagle Bend, Mrs. Glen (Nellie) Davis of Eagle Bend, his mother, Mary Petrie of Long Prairie; 33 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
