Vern passed away peacefully at his son's home with family at this side. He served in the Philippines in the U.S. Army during World War II and had a successful career as a Furniture Manufacture Representative. After retiring in 1986, Vern and Gen spent time traveling throughout the country in their motor home. Family, traveling and church service were his main enjoyments. Survivors included: daughter Kristen, son Dennis (Lanette), two sisters, three brothers and four grandchildren. Services held April 8 at Wood Chapel of Pines, Paul Robertson officiating.
