Tom H. Allwein, 87, of Decatur, a longtime active member of the Rotary Club, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Adams County Memorial Hospital.

The Shelby, Ohio, native worked for Central Soya as the plant manager from 1955 to 1975 and at the Delphos, Ohio, plant from 1975 to 1978. He was former president of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce and executive director from 1979 to 1986. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Phi Kappa Phi fraternity at DePauw University. Surviving are daughters M. Alice Baxter of Fort Wayne and Ann T. Allwein of San Francisco; a son, Timothy G. of Fort Wayne; and grandchildren Paige Baxter and Ceceilia, Abigail and G. Fletcher Allwein. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corolene, and two sisters. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with calling from noon until services. Burial will be at Decatur Cemetery. Memorials are to Woodcrest Retirement Center and Decatur Rotary Club.
