Eliza Stone, daughter of Barna Stone and Caroline Langdon, married James Andrews, son of Amos Andrews and Hopea Tanner, on December 5, 1847 in Claridon, Geauga County, Ohio.

Eliza was born and raised in Claridon, Geauga County. James and Eliza were early pioneers in Wyocena, Columbia County, Wisconsin, where they lived for about four years. Afterward they moved to Tuscola County, Michigan--first to Juniata Township, then to Almer Township, and finally to Ellington Township. Their move to Tuscola County may have been prompted by the 1853 death of James's father Amos Andrews who, along with his sons David H. Andrews and Amos Andrews, was a pioneer in Indianfields Township, Tuscola County, Michigan.

James and Eliza lived on the Ellington Township farm that James had cleared in the mid-1850s and which was eventually considered one of the best orchards in Tuscola County.

Eliza and James had five children:

Mary E. Andrews (b. about 1850)
Charles Andrews (b. January 1852)
Cornelia E. Andrews (b. September 15, 1854)
James Harvey Andrews, Jr. (b. July 7, 1858)
Frank E. Andrews (b. 1862)
