GEORGETOWN - L. Dudley Sports, 94, a retired employee with International Paper Co., died Wednesday in a local hospital. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Tabernacle United Methodist Churchyard in Florence County. Burial will be directed by Mayer's Georgetown Chapel.

Mr. Sports was born in Effingham, a son of Joseph E. Sports and Arelia Taylor Sports. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club, Georgetown Country Club and Winyah Bay Golf Club. He was a Mason and an active member of Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. He was first married to the late Minnie Bryan Sports, then to the late Adrian Sauls Sports and was the widower of Maybelle B. Howard Sports.

Surviving are a son, L. Dudley Sports Jr. of Georgetown; a sister, Linnie S. Jeffords of Brunswick, Ga.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
