10 March 1983 Obituary in the Abilene Reporter-News: Maggie Mae Throckmorton, 69, of Shady Oaks Nursing Home, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday at her home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, US Hwy.277.
The Rev. Kevin Kennedy of Trinity Baptist Church will officiate, Burial will be at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Born Dec. 18, 1913 in Bell County, Texas where she lived most of her life, she moved to Abilene in 1976. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include 3 sons, Robert Scott of Belton, Dick Scott of Fairview, Mont., & Glenn Hamilton of Temple; 3 daughters, Mrs. Terry (Lela) Carpenter of Holland, Mrs. Albert (Jean) West of 5202 Twylight Trail in Abilene, & Debbie Nichols of 4050 S. 7th in Abilene; a sister, Melba Zarosky of Temple; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons & grandsons in law; Randy Duncan, Gary Ellison, David Butler, James Carpenter, Nathan West, & Tim Scott.
