Warren Allen age 62 a carpenter, his wife Adelia age 52, stepson Harry Crippen age 24 and sister-in-law Emma Tompkins age 38

Henry D. Crippen [a/k/a Harry] of Penn Yan, attempted to commit suicide at his home on Saturday last by severing the arteries in both wrists. He was arrested by Officer McLaughlin and taken to jail, where medical assistance was rendered. Crippen is about 26 years of age and is an epileptic. He was suffering from an attack of that disease when the rash act was done. He was sent to the Willard Asylum about a year ago and was released about the 1st of April. On Monday last, he was taken to Willard Asylum by Superintendent of the Poor Davis, assisted by Constable McLouglin.
