Mamaroneck --The first infantile paralysis victim of 1928 in the neighborhood of Mamaroneck was reported yesterday in the death of Gordon Douglas Bruce, Jr., 44 Melbourne Avenue, Mamaroneck, who died after an illness of 5 days following his return from a Massachusetts camp. He was 13 years of age.

Ballston Spa--The body of Gordon Douglas Bruce, Jr., was brought here this afternoon from Mamaroneck for burial in the [Ballston Spa] village cemetery. The boy, 13 years of age, died suddenly on Friday morning [7 Sep], after a day's illness. Mrs. Bruce is the sister of Stewart [H. Stuart] Medbery of this village.

The Boy Scouts of Mamaroneck, New York, his home town, have had placed a bronze marker at the grave of Gordon Douglas Bruce, Jr., in the village cemetery. The young man was the grand nephew of S. C. Medbery and a nephew of H. Stewart [Stuart] Medbery of this village.
