Roy Emiel DeVrieze was the son of Emiel DeVrieze and Christine Marie Vanderwostyn. Roy married Dorothy Gertrude Peterson on January 16, 1932 in Blooming Prairie, Steele County, Minnesota. They had three children: Colleen Janyce, Donna Mae, and Deborah Raye. Roy made his living as a farmer and helped feed the world. He died from Bronchitis complications in Nursing home in Hayfield, Dodge County, Minnesota.

Mr. DeVrieze, 90, of Brownsdale, a retired farmer and milk hauler, died Satruday evening (April 12, 1997) at Olmsted Community Hospital in Rochester.
He was born April 23, 1906, in Geneseo, ILL. On Jan. 16, 1932, he married Dorothy G. Peterson in Hayfield. She died May 28, 1995. Mr. DeVrieze lived in Brownsdale for over 60 years before entering Field Crest Nursing home in Hayfield in September 1996. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Colleen Miller of Marshalltown, Iowa. Donna Goetz of Austing and Deborah Wilson of Dexter; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Haukom of Hayfield. He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandson.
