Michael James O'Shaughnessy was a Sergeant in the US 101 Infantry, 26th Division during World War II. He enlisted via the US National Guard on 22 March 1941 in Massachusetts. He was not a US citizen when he enlisted. His remains were re-interred in Kilcummin Cemetery on 7 July 1949 from their original site of burial at Limmey, Province of Lorraine, France. He is buried with his parents, Patrick O'Shaughnessy who died on 26th June 1965 and Bridget O'Shaughnessy who died on 29th June 1966, his brother Oliver David O'Shaughnessy (1929-23 August 1947) and his sister, Nora O'Shaughnessy who died on 24th July 1990.
