Her middle name is pronounced Louise Anna

Daughter of Alexander Henry Graber
and Emily Melissa Post

Regarding birth place, her son Stanley Curtis's birth record lists Mother's Birth Place as Pella (Marion County), Iowa; however her daughter Helen Curtis was certain her mother was born in Sioux City, which is consistent with the Iowa 1885 Census which says Woodbury County.

After Ella's father Alexander Graber died in 1886, the widow Emily Graber and two of her four children, Ella and William, moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, temporarily into the home of Emily's brother Orange Post. About the same time, the Curtis family, being Dennis Curtis and Drucilla Carr (who had siblings in Minneapolis) and their three sons, arrived from Maine and the house they moved to happened to be near Orange's on the same street. The following year their son George Curtis and Ella Graber were married.

Married George Edgar Curtis on 19 Oct 1887
in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota
