At Rest

Mrs. James Longdo, died at her late home near Sand Creek on Saturday morning, Jan. 29.
Ida Adella, only daughter of Cornelius and Lavina Payne, was born in New York state, the 28th day of August, 1864. At the age of two, with her parents she came to Wisconsin, settling near Mauston, where she resided until after her marriage Nov. 25, 1885, to James Longdo. Immediately after their marriage they went to Dunn county, settling on a farm ten miles north of Colfax, where they resided until the time of her death.
For about eleven weeks she was sick with typhoid fever and was convalescing when an iliac abscess formed on her side, which eventually caused her death. During all of her illness Mrs. Longdo was a patient sufferer, up to the end was filled with hope such as only one of a radiant Christian character, as was hers, could have.
She was a fond wife and mother and a warm friend to all who knew her.
Left to mourn her departure are a fond and loving husband, six daughters and three sons, a mother, father and brother besides a host of friends.
The last good-bye was said and her remains laid to rest in Popple Creek cemetery Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Bell of Bloomer conducting the ceremony.
The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in this, their hour of sorrow. [Unknown Newspaper.]
