Funeral services will be held in Eagleville on Monday for John J. Thrasher, well known resident of the Gerlach community for many years who died Friday night at a hospital in Reno.

A native of Alicia, Arkansas, he was born on March 22, 1909, and was 47 years old at the time of his death. When he was 20 years old he moved to Gerlach and lived there until his fatal illness made it necessary to go to the Reno hospital.

Mr. Thrasher was operator of a general merchandise store, ran a truck line, was distributor for Standard Oil products, and was interested in the electric power business in the Gerlach area. He was also engaged in mining and cattle raising.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Helen Thrasher of Gerlach, and his mother, Mr. Jessie Thrasher of Planada, Calif. He was the brother of Hershel Thrasher of Planada and of Mrs. Lillian McKey of Elks Grove, Calif. He was a member of the Gerlach Lions Club.

Mr. Thrasher entered service in the United States Army on June 28, 1943 at Salt Lake City, Utah as a Private.

Funeral services at Eagleville will be at 2:00 Monday afternoon. The Ross-Burke Co. is in charge of arrangements here.
