Last rites for Mrs. Jessie McDonald Picken, 65, 2134 Oxford street, who died yesterday afternoon in her home following a brief illness, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday from the Burpee-Wood funeral home, 420 North Main street.
The Rev. Harold G. Whitfield, pastor of First Presbyterian church, will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
Born in Harlem township on Dec. 4, 1883, the daughter of John R. and Jessie McDonald. Mrs. Picken was a lifelong resident of this area. She was married to George M. Picken, who died in 1941.
Mrs. Picken was a member of First Presbyterian church and Rockford chapter No. 53, Order of the Eastern Star.
Her survivors include a son, J. Louis Picken, 1623 Post avenue; two granddaughters, Joan and Mary Picken; a sister, Mrs. R. M. Greenlee, Caledonia, and a brother, J.C. McDonald, Beloit, Wis.
Friends may call at he funeral home between 7 and 8:30 o'clock this evening.
