"My father took our family to Jermyn, Texas in 1919. My father worked for the Gulf, Texas, and Western Railroad, as general freight and passenger agent. We lived on the "hill" in the house the railroad owned. My dad liked to wolf hunt, and he kept hound dogs in a pen under the water tower to our wind mill. My parents moved to Jacksboro so I could finish high school. Since my father worked for the railroad, we moved many times. We moved to Jacksboro, Olney, Mineral Wells, Fort Worth, and Denton. The Gulf, Texas, and Western Railroad sold to the Frisco Railroad and we moved again. My father took our family to Vernon in 1935 where I married. My father's last place to work was in Wichita Falls, Texas."
