Richard H. "Dick" Adams, 80, of Cheyenne died Jan. 8 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 25, 1919, in Toledo, Ohio, and had lived here since 1946.

Mr. Adams served in the U.S. Army Infantry in the 36th Division from 1937 to 1945. He was a prisoner of war of World War II.

Mr. Adams was a mechanic for Halladay Motors for 27 years and Conrad Motors for four years.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, American ex P.O.W. and Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Therese "Terry" Adams of Cheyenne whom he married Sept. 18, 1947, in Fort Collins, Colo.; two sons, Russ Adams of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Ron Adams of Bellevue, Colo.; two daughters, Chris Adams of Loveland, Colo., and Linda Adams of Cheyenne; five brothers, George J. Adams of Grand Prairie, Texas, John M. Adams of Laramie, Robert Burt Adams of Colgate, Okla., Edward Crane Adams of Arlington, Texas, and Don L. Adams of Las Vegas, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard H. Adams Jr.; a daughter, Gail Lynn Adams; and his parents, John and Florence Adams.
