EFFINGHAM -- Helen Louise Freeman, 85, of Effingham, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday (May 1, 2006) at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo. Burial will be in the Janesville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel. She was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Peoria, daughter of Robert and Francis Hill Pedigo. She married John Freeman in 1989; he survives. Other survivors include four stepsons, Keith Freeman of Columbus, Ohio, Thomas Freeman of Xenia, Mich., Glen Freeman of Effingham and Fred Freeman of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Harold Pedigo of Washington; eight step grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Mrs. Freeman was a homemaker.
