Cade Hunter Beck, age 12, of Palatka, died Monday June 6, 2011 from injuries received in an ATV accident. He was a native of Jacksonville and a life-long resident of Palatka and East Palatka. He was in the 6th grade at Jenkins Middle School and was an active member of the FFA and Land Judging at the school. He was a member of Lemon Heights Baptist Church and Gids Bay Hunting Club in Clay County. He loved playing baseball and football and was a member of the Dirt Bike Association. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Martha & Willard Nettles, Ralph & Erma Jean Thames, and Edward & Virginia Beck.

He is survived by his mother & step-father, Marisa & Andy Sapp; father, Mark Beck, Sr.; 3 sisters, Megan Beck, Brooke Beck and Taylor Sapp; brother, Mark A. "Cole" Beck, Jr. & girlfriend, Jennie McNett, all of Palatka; grandparents, Wayne & Linda Shell, Robert & Sheila Thames, Buddy Beck, Sandy & Wayne Sapp, and Gator & Debbie Banks; great-grandparents, Robert & Betty Bradshaw, all of Palatka; aunts & uncles, Will Nettles, Kim & Keith Bushy, Christy & Michael May, Guyla Banks, and Victoria Radtke; cousin, Robert William "Billy" Bradshaw, all of Palatka; best friends, Cameron Smith, Christopher Teaford, Landon Nearing, and Zeth Sweat and a special friend, Margaret Squires, along with many other cousins.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 11th at the Palatka High School Commons with Rev. Joey Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Johnson Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka. In celebration of his life, a memorial video will be shown. The FFA Chapters of Jenkins and Beasley Middle School will serve as active & honorary pallbearers.
