Mike Heegard Services Held
Detroit Lakes Man Dies At Age of 74 Years
Funeral services were held yesterday at 3;30 p.m. at the West Funeral Home for Marinus (Mike) C. Heegard, 74, resident of the Detroit Lakes community for 25 years. He passed away last Wednesday at St. Mary's hospital. Rev. C. B. Pavey officiated and burial was made in Oak Grove cemetery.
He was born in Denmark. On January 16, 1890, he was married to Annie Marie Olson. She passed away 19 years ago.
For the past 16 years Mr. Heegard was employed by H. A. Krostue of the first Minneapolis Land Company. He also farmed at Osage for several years.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Leonard Kafer, Detroit Lakes; Mrs. Lillian Fletcher, Ada; Mrs. William Simmons, Park Rapids; Mrs. Lloyd Larson, Ada; Everett, Forest City, Ore.; John in the merchant marines; Mrs. H. E. Rueth, Jersey City, N.J.; Cloyce, at Camp Crowder, Mo., in the army and Arelda at St. Cloud. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister, Peter and Christ of Starbuck, and Mrs. Tom Dahl of Albert Lea.
