SCOTLAND NECK -- Allen McLean Averett, 78, died Sunday, March 7, 2004. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck with the Rev. Ralph Leggett presiding.
Averett is survived by his wife, Emily R. Averett of the home; children, Alana C. Flowers of Edenton, Michael Averett of Winchester, Va., Nancy H. Tripp of Greenville and Linda Lee Hall of Richmond, Va.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. tonight at Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck.
