L. C. Duncan, 73, of Florence went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 28, 2009. L. C. was born September 3, 1935 in San Patricio County, Texas to Luther Vasco and Cleo Beatrice May Duncan. L. C. served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War. L. C. married his sweetheart, Emma Ryden on July 7, 1958 in Florence, Texas. It was in Florence, Texas that Emma and L.C. chose to build their life and raise their family. L. C. worked for many years as a mechanic; he was able to fix anything and enjoyed helping others. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and camping with his family. L. C. took great pride in playing with his grandchildren. L.C. and Emma joined the Andice Baptist Church in 1994; he became a Deacon at the church in 1997. L. C. is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Billy Ray, Darrell, Ervin Duncan; grandson, Ernest Ray Duncan; daughter-in-law, Donna Duncan; and his in-laws, Milton and Merle Ryden.

L. C. leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 51 years, Emma Duncan; his children: a son and daughter-in-law, and a daughter and fiancé; his sister and brother-in-law; a brother; his four grandchildren; a great granddaughter; along with many other loving family members and friends. A service celebrating L.C.'s life will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at The Andice Baptist Church, 6570 FM 970, Andice, Texas. Interment will follow at Maxdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be L.C.'s cousins, Ellis Smith, David Pinkerd, Stanley Pinkerd, Pate Duncan, and Wayne Duncan. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Andice Baptist Church.
