Born February 28, 1925, in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Remalui Hacker. Her husband of 58 years, Glen Charles, preceded her in death on December 5, 2000.
Millie was the former Post Master of Sonestown for many years. She was a member of the Valley United Methodist Church, Muncy Valley, a Charter Member of the American Legion Post 601 Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Muncy Valley Area Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Millie enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her dog Zeke.
Surviving are a son, William (Nancy) Charles of Williamsport; three daughters, Marilyn (Jerrod) Brown of Shunk, Cheryl (Alan) Streisel of Reedsville and Belva (Joseph) Ream of Lebanon; two sisters, Merla Oden of Cogan Station and Ila Force of Annville; six grandchildren, Michael Charles, Steven Charles, Richard Brown, Cheri Meek, Jamison Ream and Erin Ream; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Millie was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Charles A. Harris Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
