Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, at the Charles G. Parks Funeral Home in Petoskey. The Rev. Henry Maxwell will officiate and interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Petoskey.
Mr. Boyer was born January 30, 1914, in Winston-Salem, N.C., the son of Paul and Nora(Lashmit) Boyer. He attended schools in North Carolia and married the former Thelma Caudle, April 20, 1935, in Winston-Salem. They moved to Petoskey in 1938 and Mr. Boyer was employed as a mechanic for 35 years. He had worked at MacDonald Motors, Cappel Motors and Brown Motors before retiring in 1976.
He was a member of the Edgewater Baptist Church of Petoskey.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma; seven children; William, Tom, Allen and Larry, all of Petoskey, Mrs. Dale(Robin)Anderson of Afton, Mrs. Robert(Yvonne) Dell of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Robert of Tucson, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Smith of Clemons, N.C. and one brother, Fred Boyer of Mexico; one niece and two nephews.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Little Traverse Bay. Envelopes for that purpose may be obtained at the Charles G. Parks Funeral Home where friends may call 7-9 p.m., Thursday, March 14, and 10a.m. to time of service on Friday.
