Harold Norman Courtney, 72, passed away May 24, 2005 at Cedarville Hospital. Norm was born November 8, 1932 to William & Oline Courtney in Greenville, TX. A the age of 1, the family moved west to Cedarville, CA. They lived at the Mulot place & Norm remembers carrying water from Owl Creek. He attended Eagleville schools where sports were his favorite subject. He worked at the Bear Ranch for Charlie Nolan for 3 years & enjoyed his favorite pastimes of riding horses and fishing. For 2 years he served his country in the infantry during the Korean War. In 1956, Norm went to work for PG&E where he enjoyed his working family & friends at the Shack. He later married Bobby Jean, to whom three girls were born: Wendy, Cheryl & Patty. After retiring, he moved back to Eagleville, where he was known as the Mayor! He prided himself in making coffee for the Morning Coffee Club & keeping the town ditches clean. Norm was preceded in death by his parents, Bill & Oline; brothers Ronnie & Pete. He is survived by a sister, Ellen in Oklahoma; a brother, Cecil & family in Gerlach & a brother, Buddy & family in Redding; daughters Cheryl Courtney of Redwood City. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Eagleville Community Church, PO Box 234, Eagleville, CA 96110 or Eagleville Volunteer Fire Dept, Eagleville, CA 96110. A funeral service will be held at Eagleville Community Church on Main Street in Eagleville, CA on May 31, 2005, at 11 AM. It was Norm's wishes that all would get together to share memories & celebrate his life after church services at the Eagleville Community Hall. We would like to thank Dr. Chuck Colas & everyone at the Cedarville Hospital & especially Sharon & Bob Staton.
