ENEL H. BROWN Jr.

Mr. Enel H. Brown, Jr. of Midland City died Sunday, June 5, 2011, at his residence. He was 92.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Tom Anderson, John Anderson, and Dr. Paola Bass officiating. Burial will follow in Hodgesville Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. Brown was born May 7, 1919, in Long Island, N.Y., the son of the late Enel H. and Lillian Tracey Brown. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, and the Grand Lodge of GA 288 F. & A.M. for 50 plus years. He retired as Sgt. First Class with 20 plus years of service in 1970. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor, and served 2 terms in Vietnam. He loved and was dedicated to his country. He was a loving husband and father, who loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Chester Brown, and two sisters, Lillian Brown and Mary Zimmie.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Brown of Midland City; son, Timothy Brown of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Sandra Brown and her husband, Buster of Cleveland, GA; grandchildren, Quinn Brown and his wife, Jennifer Brown of Los Angeles, CA; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, two very special sisters-in-law, Jeanette McCurley and Judy Tiberio, special nieces, Marie and her husband, Lynn Peterson, special friend, Leann Howell, and two loving pets.
