Charles City Woman Succumbs at Hospital. Mrs. James W. Shafer, 57, of Clark Street, died Friday at the Cedar Valley Hospital where she had been a patient for the past week. She had been in failing health for about two years.
Mrs. Shafer was born Coral Perry, Nov. 1, 1895, in Floyd County, daughter of Frederick and Rose Van Wert Perry. She was married to James W. Shafer June 23, 1920. They have lived in Charles City for the past year. Previous to that time, the family lived in West St. Charles, Union and Pleasant Grove Townships.
Survivors are her husband and one son, Glenn, Pacolma, Calif., five grandchildren, and four sisters; Mrs. Una Peterson, Charles City; Mrs. Laura Huxsol, Cedar Glenn, Calif; Mrs. Alice Carter, Seattle, Wash.; and Mrs. Daisy Kock of Floyd, and two brothers, Myron and Maurice, both of Floyd. Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death.

Perry-Shafer Nuptials. Popular Young Couple from West of Nashua Plight their Troth at Little Brown Church.
Miss Coral E. Perry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred S. Perry, and Mr. James W. Shafer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Shafer, were united in marriage Thursday, June 24 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Rev. Carlton of Charles City, pronouncing the words which united the lives of the young couple, using the ring ceremony.
They were attended by Miss Laura Perry, sister of the bride, as bridesmaid and Mr. Harry Shafer, brother of the groom as best man ... Luella Perry, niece of the bride was ring bearer. ...
The bride is one of the most popular young ladies of the community and numbers her friends by her acquaintance. She is an active member of the Nashua Rebekah lodge. The groom is a respected and industrious young farmer living near Greene.
