James 'Jim' Shafer. Services for James "Jim" W. Shafer, 90, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hage Funeral Home, Charles City; burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens Cemetery, Charles City; he was found dead at his home Sunday morning*; an autopsy is being conducted; survivors include a brother Herbert of Greene; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; he was preceded in death by his wife, Cora, in 1953; a son, Glenn; and three brothers; friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today and until services Wednesday; Mr. Shafer was a retired farmer and had been employed as a bus driver and janitor for the Charles City Schools until 1963.
