Mrs. Lucille Horton, 78, died Saturday September 17th, 1988 in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was born on January 10, 1910 in Lagarto Texas to Mary Orie (Beall) Byler and Rufus Franklin Byler, She resided in Mathis, Texas since 1912 and was a homemaker.

Survivors are her husband Cecil E. Horton of Mathis; two daughters and sons-in-law; Betty Lou and R. C. Salyer of Kenedy, Texas, and Mary Katherine ( Kaffy) and Jack Sharp of Corpus Christi; one son and daughter-in-law Cecil F. (bud) and Virginia Horton of Georgewest, Texas; five grandsons, Reggie and David Salyer, Randy and Jay Sharp, and Robert Horton; seven great-grandchildren and one niece.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dobie Funeral Home with Dr. Justin Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Lagarto Cementery. Pallbearers will be Reggie Salyer, David Salyer, Randy Sharp, Robert Horton, John Polzin, and Richard Beall. In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to Lagarto Cemetery Preservation Foundation, HCR-2 Boz 7622, Sandia, TX 78383.
