CLEARFIELD--Sidney (Sid) Albert Lewis Sly Sr., 85, passed away, Jan 29, 1990 at St. Benedict's Hospital in Ogden of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born June 18, 1904, in Warminster, England, a son of Arthur Sidney and Ulla Michell Sly.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1923-26.
He married Almira Walker Oct. 1, 1926, in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died May 1, 1987.
He had resided in Clearfield since 1926. He had worked in steel manufacturing.
He was an active member of the Clearfield 1st LDS Ward. He had served as General Secretary of the Aaronic Priesthood Adults group and attended the LDS Temples as often as he could.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ogden No. 2472.
Surviving are one son, Sidney Lewis Sly Jr.; two granddaughters, and three great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by one brother, one half brother, and two sisters.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State Street with Bishop David Monson officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the services.
Interment Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, Ogden.
