Barbara K. Niewiadomski, 73, Stevens Point, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Friends and family will share memories from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point. The family will hold a time for reflection with music at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel. A private burial will be in St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery on Monday.

Mrs. Niewiadomski was born April 30, 1935, in Portage County, a daughter of the late Harold and Doris (Johnson) Mohr. She attended local schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School.
She was married to Eugene Niewiadomski on June 22, 1953, in Stevens Point. He died in 1987.
The couple settled in Stevens Point.
She worked at Portesi's Italian Restaurant, Northpoint Restaurant and Frank's Hardware before retiring from Sentry Insurance as a claims technician.
She was known for her rescue of bears that she would clean and repair and then donate them to children at the hospital and elsewhere. She also made mohair bears, knitted mittens and scarves for family members and friends.
She served on the board of advisers for Portage County Hospice.
Survivors include two sons, Al and Norman (Kerrie), both of Plover; two daughters, Dori (Gary) Singer and Dawn (Randy) Hass, both of Stevens Point; one brother, Richard (Susan) Mohr, Arbor Vitae; two sisters, Donna (Walter) Fischer, Plover, and Loretta "Lori" (David) Kontney, Sussex; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
