Murl Deen Champion
DENVER CITY - Murl Deen Champion, 68, formerly of Cross Plains, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Denver City Church of Christ with Skip Rodgers officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Cottonwood Cemetery near Cross Plains, directed by Ratliff Funeral Home.
Mrs. Champion was born in Cross Plains and married R.L. "Bob" Champion in 1950 in Hobbs, N.M. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, of Denver City; two daughters, Debbie Gauronskas of Kingwood and Deena Mitchell of Mandeville, La.; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
According to the TX Birth Index; TX Birth Certificate #58815; & the Amendment to Certificate of Birth #58815 by her father, Earl Barnett - Murl Deen Barnett was born in rural Coleman County. TX Death Index shows she died in Yoakum County,TX.
