He was the son of Jennie Marie Grimm Moore and Howard Jasper Moore, the grandson of Martha Alma Miller Moore and Etna Field Moore; and Matilda Stoltenberg Grimm and August Henry Grimm of Zearing, Story Co., Iowa. He attended public school in Des Moines and graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1950. He played tuba in the university's famous Cowboy Band and Double Bass in several big bands. He served in the Navy during WWII as storekeeper on various ships, including the USS Tuscana. He was a representative for Continental Supply Company, S. M. Jones Sucker Rods, W. C. Norris, and Dover Corp., living in Abilene, Hobbs, Midland, and Tulsa. He enjoyed golf, sailing, history, and genealogy and served as a volunteer for Junior Achievement and the YMCA Indian Guides. He was active in the Methodist Church and participated in the choral and Sunday School programs. He died from Progress Supranuclear Palsy. He is survived by his wife Barbara J. Moore, sons Gregory Keith Moore and wife Betsy of Tulsa; and Gary Lee Moore and wife Marcia of Broken Arrow; step-daughters Jo Ann and her husband Mike Lemley of Jenks OK, Bobbi; and her husband Dan Reid of Williamsville NY, and Cheri Dymond of Arlington TX; brother Kenneth Alan Moore and wife Noel of The Woodlands TX; and 10 grandchildren. 02/15/03
