Ogden – Betty Weese of Ogden died February 4, 2010. She was born to Leona Green and Harold Forbes Feb. 27, 1926 in Ogden the oldest of three children. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1944 and attended Weber State College for a short time.

Betty married Carl A. Weese Nov. 2, 1944, in Ogden. They soon moved to San Antonio and Oklahoma while her husband attended pilot training school in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Later they moved back to Ogden and raised 10 children. He died in January 1991.

She worked at a day care and preschool for more than 13 years. She also worked for Mrs. Willard Eccles in her home for more than 26 years.

Betty served in the Primary for 22 years and has held numerous other callings in the LDS Church.

Her interests include butterflies, reading, gardening, spending time with her family, keeping busy and making banana bread to share with neighbors, friends and fellow church members.

Surviving are her children, Tom and Pam Smith (deceased), Sam and Carlene Ames, Craig and Shila Weese, Dennis and Devra Penrod, Terry Weese, Kerry and Becky Robbins, Cindy Weese, DeWayne and Shanna Kelso, Mark and DeAnn Weese, and Mitch and Michelle Frazier; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sisters and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at the Rock Cliff 6th Ward Chapel, 300 Gramercy. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be at the Ogden City Cemetery.
