Mildred "Millie" Andrea (Gerjets) Aalgaard was born June 15, 1924 to Henry and Anna Gerjets in Barnsville, MN. Mom passed to a better life May 30, 2010. She was raised in Fargo, ND where she met and married her husband, Don Aalgaard, August 1, 1946. Mom and dad moved to Spokane in 1947. Mom and dad were snowbirds for 20 plus years in Mesa, AZ.
She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, Yahtzee and being with her family. She would help us all with canning etc. She was a great mom, grandma, great grandma, sister and daughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister and her husband of 56 years.
Mom is survived by her children, Diana Colwell, Daryl (Sue) Aalgaard, Connie (Ken) Randall and Cheri (Jerry) Brockob. She also is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.
We would like to thank Royal Park Care Center for their dedicated and kind care of our mom. We would also like to thank Hospice of Spokane for the care and support of our family. A Funeral Service will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park at the Sunset Chapel on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11:30AM. A viewing will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, June 3, 2010 from 12:00 to 5:00 and Friday, June 4, 2010 from 8:00 to 5:00.
