Ralph D. Nelson, age 80, of 1690 Hwy. 308, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the Hospice House of Laurens County.
He was born in Laurens County and was a son of the late John Lewis and Minnie Lee Pulley Nelson.

Mr. Nelson retired from Clinton Mills in 1992, was a member of Hurricane Baptist Church, and a Korean War Army Veteran.
Surviving are his son, Ralph David Nelson Jr. of Laurens; three daughters, Sandra Ruth Nelson of Clinton, Deborah Mae Nelson of Pelzer and Nancy Ida Martini of Greer; two brothers, Thomas Edward "Skeet" Nelson Sr. and Bob Wess Nelson, both of Laurens; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 2, 2010, at 2pm in Hurricane Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7-9pm at the funeral home.

The family will be at the home of his daughter, Sandra Nelson, 225 Holmes Bridge Road, Clinton, SC.
