Mary T. Pokorny Pennartz, 85, of Wichita Falls died Wednesday, January 15, 2003.

The funeral liturgy was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2003, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Ivor Koch. Rite of committal was followed at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A daughter of the late John and Theresa Kovar, she was born June 9, 1917, in Baylor County. Mary was a graduate of Megargel High School. On June 5, 1939, she married Lee Pokomy in Megargel. He preceded her in death in 1979. In 1981, she married Bill Pennartz. A homemaker, she was an active member of the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge since 1945. She was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society. She also served as the past president of the Rancho Vista Home Demonstration Club.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Pennartz of Wichita Falls; daughters Janet Simpson of Mesquite, Texas, and Delores Payne of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Clara Ann Urbanousky of Houston; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; also, several stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Christian wake service was held 7 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2003, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls, Texas.
