He was born October 3, 1902 in Paulding County, was a sawmiller and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara White Brown; parents, Noble and Nancy Gentry Brown; and two sons, Gene Brown and Tommy Brown.
He is survived by four sons, Roger Brown, Jack Brown, Jerry Brown, all of Dallas; Pete Brown, Powder Springs; brother, Bud Brown, Trion; sister, Mrs. Inez Morris, Vero Beach, Florida; 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Graveside funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29 in Yorkville Cemetery with Rev. Andy Fennell officiating.
Grandsons served as pallbearers; Greg Brown, Kelly Brown, Johnny Brown, Jeffrey Brown, Scott Brown, Mike Brown and Billy Sosebee.
Honorary Pallbearers were: Cody Brown, Racy Jones and Shane Harrell.
