Daughter of Sarah Sirleter Sheffield (1829-1862) and Louis Anderson Holzendorf (1817-1879). Her siblings included: Otissee, Catherine, Alexander Decatur, Reginald Renaldo, Wilma, Preston Brooks, Georgia Isabella, Richard G. and Isabella.
