Jesse A. Wood, 76, Colfax, a retired farmer, died at a hospital today following several months' illness. Recently he suffered a hip fracture. Born in Benton Country, Oregon, he was a resident of Whitman County since she was 2 years old, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Wood who homesteaded near Diamond. For a few years he operated a farm at Southwick, Idaho, but farmed mostly in the Diamond vicinity.

Surviving are the widow; two sons, Carl and Harold, Colfax; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Hardesty, Spangle; a brother, Clyde Wood, Troy, Idaho, and two sisters, Mrs. Maude Torrence, Spokane, and Mrs. Lizzie Midie, Lewiston, Idaho. Last rites have been set for 2 p.m.,Tuesday from Bruning's Chapel with burial in Colfax Cemetery.
