Eva L. Holbrook, 100, died Oct. 21, 2002 at the J.M.L. Care Center in Falmouth, Mass.
She was the wife of the late Edward S. Holbrook who died in 1971. They had been married for 45 years. He had been the Treasurer for the Town of Holliston, Mass. and Mrs. Holbrook served as Assistant Treasurer.
Born in Northbridge, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Edith (Seaver) Houghton. She was a teacher in the public school system.
Mrs. Holbrook had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star Myrtle Chapter #33 in Holliston and active with the First Congregational Church of Holliston.
Following her retirement she moved to Boothbay Harbor for 20 years where she operated a rooming house and was a member of the Coastal Club. Mrs. Holbrook made her home with her daughter in Pocasset, Mass. since 1991.
She is survived by her daughters Sue Long and her husband Charles of Pocasset, Mass. and Jane Stratton of Yarmouthport, Mass.; 5 grandchildren, Burt, Betsy, Matthew, Debra and Kristin; and 17 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Friday, Oct. 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St., Route 16, Holliston, Mass. The Rev. Timothy Benson, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Holliston will officiate. Burial will follow in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery in Northbridge. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
