He died at the age of 74 years and 1 month on April 25, 1830 according to the burial records of Early Settlers of New York State by Janet Wethy Foley in Vol. 1 of 2.

According to information supplied to me by Leigh on Jan. 2, 2015 on Find-A-Grave, he was married to Christina Ten Broeck, a daughter of Wessel Ten Broeck and Jannetje Persen. Leigh informed me that Christina was born 8 Jan 1765 and died about 1850.

On May 3, 20l1 Fred Saar supplied me with the information that Samuel was the son of Jeremiah Ten Broeck and Marytje Van Alen and a brother of Adam Ten Broeck and that his wife was Christina Ten Broeck. On 8/14/2014 I saw some information that her father was Wessel Ten Broeck of Germantown which is now in Columbia County, New York.

Fred also gave me the information that he obtained from DAR records that Samuel's Revolutionary Service was that he resided at Claverack, and when the young men of his section responded to the call to arms, although he was not of age, he entered the Ninth Company of the Livingston Manor Regiment probably as Ensign. In the promotions of 1776 he was made Second Lieutenant.

There is a death record for a Samuel J. Ten Brook for April 25, 1830 who is buried at the Dutch Reformed Churchyard at Claverack, Columbia County, New York. It says he died at the age of 74 years and 1 month. That would put his imputed year of birth at 1756. This record was found in Early Settlers of New York State, Volume I, page 480, compiled by Janet Wethy Foley. It is quite possible that he was related to the Ten Broeck family which has other members buried at this cemetery.
